HomeRoot and your account

HomeRoot is provided by HomeRoot LLC. These Terms, including the Refund and Cancellation Policy below, cover your use of HomeRoot. Contact HomeRoot Support at support@homeroot.app for product, account or billing questions. Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle information.

HomeRoot helps you capture and organize Entries, Spaces, files and household discussion. New public accounts are available to United States residents who are at least 18 years old. When opening an account, you state that you meet these requirements, agree to the identified Terms and acknowledge the identified Privacy Notice. These are self-attestations. This signup step does not independently verify your age or residence or collect your birth date or precise location. Household content does not create an account for a child.

Use an account you are authorized to control, provide accurate information and keep your sign-in methods secure. Contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. Choosing Google or Apple sign-in does not combine different HomeRoot accounts. An uncertain setup or payment should be recovered through its existing record or with support rather than repeated as a new purchase.

Your content and sharing

You retain the rights you hold in your content. Upload and share only material you have permission to use. You permit HomeRoot LLC to store, reproduce, process and display your material to operate HomeRoot for you, your selected audiences and the service purposes described in the Privacy Notice. This permission does not transfer ownership. HomeRoot preserves attribution to creators and file suppliers.

Choose private and shared destinations deliberately. Access depends on the audience and source permissions; a paid plan does not expand them. Other people may have their own rights in shared contributions. Removing access cannot retrieve copies someone already downloaded, exported or recorded elsewhere. Do not bypass permissions, access another person's private material without authorization or disrupt the service.

Free and Plus

Free requires no payment details. It includes 25 active Entries, 3 owned active Spaces, 100 MB of retained original files and 5 active reminder schedules, together with ordinary search, synchronization and collaboration. Free does not initiate AI requests.

HomeRoot Plus costs USD $4.99 per month and renews monthly until canceled. It includes 1,000 active Entries, 25 owned active Spaces, 1 GB of retained original files, 100 active reminder schedules and 50 included AI credits for each verified monthly subscription period. There is no annual offer or free trial. Checkout shows the seller, currency, applicable tax, total price, recurring terms and management route before you agree to pay.

The creator's Entries and the supplier's retained original-file bytes, including retained versions, count toward that person's allowances. Receiving shared access alone does not consume owned capacity. File-transfer safeguards are 5 GB per day on Free and 50 GB per day on Plus. Reminder safeguards are at most one occurrence per schedule per hour, up to five enrolled delivery devices and up to three delivery attempts per occurrence. These safeguards do not delete retained content. Features on a particular device depend on its compatible HomeRoot client and available delivery settings.

Optional AI credits

Optional purchased packs contain 125 credits for USD $4.99, 300 credits for USD $9.99 or 650 credits for USD $19.99. Packs are not bought automatically. Active Plus is required to buy or spend purchased credits. Purchased credits carry forward without a monthly expiry; canceling Plus does not erase their recorded balance. Included credits expire at the end of their verified monthly subscription period without rollover.

Before an AI request, HomeRoot shows its maximum customer debit: at most 10 credits for Ask or 20 credits for AI Search, limited further by your available credits. HomeRoot combines the request's stages and rounds once to a tenth of a credit. You are not debited above the displayed maximum, even if HomeRoot's own provider cost is higher. One initiated AI operation runs per account at a time.

If a technical failure produces no usable delivered result, HomeRoot restores the request's customer credit consumption. A requested Stop settles only usable delivered work under the displayed policy. Recovery and billing records remain available; restoring credits does not mean an uncertain provider request was never made or that a cash payment was refunded. HomeRoot does not automatically send an ambiguous paid request again.

Explicit AI help

Ordinary capture, organization and retrieval remain useful without AI. When you explicitly request AI help, HomeRoot supplies the authorized context for that request as explained in the Privacy Notice. Context used for a shared answer must be authorized for everyone receiving that answer. Private AI Search is requester-private and does not post its result to a shared discussion.

AI can be wrong or incomplete. Review suggestions and source material before relying on them or adopting a decision. An AI answer does not itself adopt a decision or execute a Task. Organizing or discussing material does not authorize an external action.

Cancellation, limits and account help

Canceling or downgrading preserves retained content, history, original files, reading, export, recovery and actions that do not grow an exceeded allowance. HomeRoot blocks growth above the applicable limit rather than automatically deleting material to meet a quota. Service or provider failures can delay saving or processing; keep unresolved drafts and recovery copies until saving is confirmed.

Account closure and privacy requests are separate from canceling Plus. Contact support@homeroot.app for assistance. We will clarify your request, verify account control proportionately and explain the available export, closure and information-handling steps, including effects on shared contributions, unresolved work and any required retention. Preservation does not waive applicable privacy rights.

We may restrict an affected feature to address misuse, a security risk, an unresolved payment review or credit debt. We use restrictions proportionate to the issue and explain the reason and review route when lawful and safe. Ordinary content, reading, export and recovery remain available during a billing or credit restriction. Contact support@homeroot.app to request review; we do not automatically erase household content to resolve a billing issue.

We will identify material changes to these Terms or a paid offer and explain when they take effect before applying them. A changed price is disclosed before the renewal it affects; you can cancel future renewal. A new policy does not rewrite a recorded earlier acceptance or authorize a retroactive charge. Earlier policy versions and acceptance records are retained.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: canceling Plus

Use the management route shown for your purchase or contact support@homeroot.app. Ordinary cancellation stops future renewal and keeps Plus until the verified paid-through date. The Free growth limits then apply, with the preservation described above. Purchased credit balances remain recorded; active Plus is required to spend them. You can ask a billing or refund question after cancellation.

For a Managed Payments purchase, the Stripe seller entity shown at checkout and on the receipt is the merchant of record, and Link provides transaction and subscription support. HomeRoot LLC remains responsible for HomeRoot's product, content, access and product support. Earlier Standard purchases retain their original seller and management route. Use the route identified for your actual purchase; a refund and cancellation of a recurring contract are separate actions.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: money refunds

You may request a full refund of your first successful Plus payment within 14 calendar days of that payment, including after trying the included AI credits.

You may request a full refund of a credit pack within 14 calendar days of its successful payment when the pack's full credit amount remains available in your purchased-credit balance after running-request reservations. Included monthly credits do not satisfy this condition. Purchased credits are fungible: this rule checks the available purchased balance and does not trace whether a particular pack was spent.

Send your request to support@homeroot.app with enough account and receipt information to locate the purchase. Never send full card details, passwords or recovery keys. Your original request date determines whether you asked within the window, even if review finishes later.

Renewals, used-credit cases that do not meet the available-balance rule, partial refunds and other exceptions receive manual review; no automatic prorated refund is promised. We correct verified duplicate or erroneous charges. These rules do not limit mandatory consumer rights or override the actual seller's responsibilities or authority.

After review, we confirm the decision and any available processing estimate. A money refund is processed through the original payment provider, and provider or bank timing can vary. A product-support reply or credit restoration is not proof that a money refund has completed.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: credits and access after a reversal

After a verified full pack refund, HomeRoot revokes the corresponding purchased credits once. If credits were already spent or reserved for running work, an uncovered amount becomes credit debt for explicit resolution. New AI purchases and spending pause until it is resolved. This does not trigger an automatic money charge, content deletion or loss of ordinary reading, export and recovery. Existing spending, reservations and unresolved operations stay recorded.

A verified full Plus payment refund or formal chargeback can end Plus for that exact paid period. A later paid period is separate. A refund does not by itself prove a separate recurring subscription was canceled; request cancellation as well if you want renewal stopped. Partial or uncertain adjustments require review rather than an invented balance change or erased history.
