Your thoughts, your choice.

A personal place needs understandable boundaries. Here is how personal content, sharing, AI and retained copies work in HomeRoot.

Your Desk starts private.

Personal Entries and your arrangement are associated with your account. Sharing is deliberate: you choose an Entry or Space and the connected People involved. Moving something on your Desk is an organizational choice; it does not publish it.

Shared material is subject to its current permissions. Earlier private material is not automatically included just because you begin sharing a conversation.

AI help is a deliberate choice.

You can capture, organize and develop your thoughts without AI. When you request HomeRoot AI, the request uses the authorized context available to that action. Shared answers are limited to material authorized for the people receiving them.

Human contributions and AI responses remain distinct. Saving a thought or opening an Entry is not itself a request for AI reasoning.

History and originals matter.

HomeRoot retains saved history and original material to support continuity and recovery. Done and Trash are recoverable organizational states; using them does not permanently delete the underlying records.

A downloaded account-history file is a copy of saved information, not a guarantee of a complete disaster-recovery backup.

Consider the device you use.

The web app keeps local recovery information to protect pending changes. These browser-local copies are not encrypted by HomeRoot and can remain on the device after sign-out. Signing out clears the displayed account workspace; it does not erase every retained local copy.

Use your own trusted device for sensitive material. Information someone has already downloaded or kept offline cannot be remotely erased by changing its sharing permissions.
